Stuck in a small empty factory town in Ohio, Tamar, thirty-years old, has recently moved out of her religious parents’ home and graduated with a degree that she is now realizing is useless in her poor town. Desperate to make it to the big city, Tamar procures a second job but not without consequences. She makes enemies with the town’s chief drug dealer Connie, who whips her mules into shape while driving a lawn mower. While Tamar runs between her two jobs, her coffee shop boss and roommate go missing, and Tamar is left to both manage the shop, work her odd second job at an empty office, and desperately search to find her friends. In her quest, Tamar recruits her religious parents and oddball locals. As Tamar struggles to save her friends, she learns that no good deed goes unpunished.
